The family of this home had been living and functioning in their existing kitchen since the house was first built several years ago. Over time the homeowners watched their children grow and made many memories together in their kitchen, but the kitchen itself did not stand the test of time. The original cabinets began to show their wear and tear and started falling apart, which lead the homeowners to contact us to assist them with their kitchen remodel.
The homeowners were exhausted from functioning in a kitchen with cabinets that were falling apart. They voiced they were no longer fond of their tile counter tops, disliked their cook top in the island and they were just tired of their "boring beige kitchen" overall.
We were quick to step up to the challenge to design personality back into this kitchen. The design layout and appliance locations were determined by the original construction of the house, but we were able to relocate the cook top out of the island and relocate it to the wall adjacent to the sink wall by removing the existing pocket door to accommodate the new microwave hood and Miele induction stove that the homeowners wanted.
Minimizing the appliances to a microwave hood and stove allowed for the design to incorporate more working countertop surface which the homeowners desired, as well as more cabinet storage.
The Fusion granite counter tops were the keystone of this project. The clients knew they wanted granite counter tops and searched high and low for the perfect stone. They found perfection in the Fusion granite. From there we selected warm colorful finishes, such as the copper luxury vinyl tile flooring to the warm rustic wheat hickory cabinets that would complement the granite and reflect the gorgeous rustic outdoors of Alaska that could be seen from their kitchen window.
